Through her seat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, local member of Congress, U.S. Representative Allyson Y. Schwartz played a key role in the economic stimulus package signed into law by President Bush earlier this month. Schwartz fought to ensure that as many American seniors as possible would be eligible for tax rebates through the economic stimulus package. Schwartz voted for a plan that will provide tax rebates to 28 million American senior households.
Now, Schwartz is reaching out to her constituents to make sure they have the information they need to know on how the economic stimulus package affects them.
“Many of my constituents, especially seniors, have questions about what the economic stimulus package personally means to them, and I am committed to working every day to answer questions and provide information so that hard working American families receive their full rebate checks in a timely manner.” U.S. Representative Allyson Y. Schwartz
As part of her outreach efforts, this Monday, February 25th at 10:30 a.m., Schwartz will host a question and answer session at the Klein Branch Jewish Community Center in Northeast Philadelphia to talk to seniors and to provide answers on many of the most frequently asked questions about the stimulus package, including, “If I am a senior who receives Social Security, is there paperwork I need to complete? When will I receive a rebate check? As a senior, how much of a rebate check am I eligible for?”
Professional tax experts and constituent service staff members of U.S. Representative Schwartz will also be on hand to answer questions.
