Through her seat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, U.S. Representative Allyson Schwartz played a key role in the economic stimulus package debate. Now, Schwartz is reaching out to her constituents to make sure they have the information they need to know on how the economic stimulus package affects them. As part of her outreach efforts, Schwartz is hosting a series of workshops for constituents to provide information on many of the most frequently asked questions about the stimulus package, such as, “If I am a senior who receives Social Security, is there paperwork I need to complete? When will I receive a rebate check? As a senior, how much of a rebate check am I eligible for?” At these workshops professional tax experts and constituent service staff members of U.S. Representative Schwartz will also be on hand to answer questions. Schwartz has hosted two workshops already in Philadelphia, with an additional three scheduled throughout Montgomery County during March and April. To RSVP to a workshop, or for questions, individuals should contact Schwartz’s Jenkintown district office at 215-517-6572. The workshops are free and open to the general public. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required. Additional information concerning the workshop, and general Q&A on the economic stimulus package can be found on Schwartz’s website at www.house.gov/Schwartz.
