U.S. Representative Allyson Schwartz's statement on the Senate's failure to pass the Medicare bill follows below.

"The Senate’s failure tonight to pass much needed Medicare legislation is unacceptable. Just two days ago this legislation, which fixed the impending physician fee cut, received overwhelming bipartisan support in the House." 

“It is starkly clear that the decisions made by Senate Republicans are not driven by the will to honor our commitment to our seniors and our disabled but rather, they are driven by unwillingness to stand against the special interests, and partisan politics.  The American people deserved better."
