Media Advisory for Tomorrow, Thursday, January 24: Over 100 Area Nonprofit Leaders Expected to Attend NE Philadelphia Grant Workshop

Tomorrow, Thursday, January 24 over 100 area nonprofit leaders are expected to attend a half-day grant workshop sponsored by Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz.  During the workshop, area nonprofit and government experts will present on key aspects of the grant process, including tips on how to tailor a grant proposal to a funding source and what grant reviewers look for in proposals. The audience of RSVPed participants is broad, including staff, board members, and volunteers of regional nonprofits.

“The Philadelphia region is home to a tremendous variety of nonprofits, from organizations aiding at risk youths, to anti-crime community initiatives to grassroots environmental efforts to veterans groups. These organizations are achieving great successes in bettering the lives of Pennsylvanians and our neighborhoods,” said Congresswoman Schwartz.

“Especially in a downturned economy – when nonprofits are often asked to do more with less – I feel very strongly about working to help ensure local nonprofits have the tools and knowledge that they need to better understand the grant making process,” added Schwartz.
