Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Allyson Y. Schwartz released the following statement in response to testimony to Congress given by General David Petraeus today.

“It may be named the Petraeus Report; but let's be clear – it is the President Bush "rose colored glasses" report. Last week Congress received two independent assessments of President Bush’s failed war in Iraq from the Government Accountability Office and the Jones Commission. These assessments, as well as the one given today, make it clear that the Iraqi government has not made the necessary political progress to ensure its future security, despite our military’s superb performance. This reality makes it clear that it is time to begin bringing our brave women and men home.”
