Three days before Valentine’s Day on Monday, February 11, Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz will host her second annual “Unsung Heroines Ceremony” in both Northeast Philadelphia and Hatboro to thank World War II and Korean War veterans’ wives for their own service and dedication to America. Schwartz is hosting these ceremonies in appreciation of the tremendous sacrifices that military families make while their loved ones are defending our nation.
At each event Congresswoman Schwartz will present veterans’ wives with flowers and a personal Congressional Certificate of Appreciation. Following, Schwartz, veterans and their wives, residents and staff will sing the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic songs. The ceremony will conclude with a flag-folding demonstration and a closing benediction.
At each event, tables of photos and memorabilia will be on display.
