| Washington, D.C. - Staying up to date on the latest Internet information is an important part of keeping yourself and your family safe online. To help keep families informed and educated on staying safe online, U.S. Rep. Allyson Y. Schwartz will host two online safety workshops this March.
“As we increasingly rely on computers and the Internet in our daily lives, we also become susceptible to security and fraud problems, as well as potential risks to our children’s safety. Whether you are a parent, a teacher, or just own a home computer, this workshop will provide valuable information to help protect yourself and your family online,” said Representative Schwartz.
Schwartz added, “We need to ensure that our children and teenagers are safe online. That is why I voted in strong support of legislation that would not only toughen the penalties for criminals who use the Internet to lure children to harmful and indecent material, but would also provide additional funding for law enforcement agencies to go after online sexual predators.”
Representatives from the National Cyber Security Alliance, Federal Trade Commission, PA Attorney General’s Office, Philadelphia Police Department and the Abington Police Department will participate in the online safety workshop.
