JENKINTOWN, PA – U.S. Representative Allyson Schwartz today strongly denounced anti-Semitic comments made by Jesse Jackson Sr. that blatantly misrepresent Senator Obama’s positions on Israel. Schwartz, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, is the only Jewish member of Pennsylvania’s 19 member House delegation. 

Schwartz’s statement follows below.

“Jesse Jackson’s comments were offensive, misleading, and flat out inaccurate. Senator Obama shares my unwavering support for Israel, and I know that he is fully committed to ensuring that America’s relationship with Israel remains strong.

“Senator Obama is the right leader for America for so many reasons, one of which is his steadfast commitment to a continued strong Israel-U.S. relationship.”
