New Information Emerges Concerning UAE and al Qaeda:

al Qaeda Touts Their Infiltration of UAE Security

U.S. Representative Schwartz: This is further evidence that Congress must block port deal.

Washington, D.C. - New evidence has emerged that al-Qaeda claimed they had infiltrated key agencies of the UAE. In summer 2002, al Qaeda officials wrote a letter to the UAE government claiming the emirates were "well aware" of the infiltration. "You are well aware that we have infiltrated your security, censorship, and monetary agencies along with other agencies that should not be mentioned."

In the light of the discovery of this letter, U.S. Representative Allyson Y. Schwartz (D-Pa.) demanded that Congress move to block the sale of U.S. ports management to Dubai Ports World.

“It is outrageous to think the U.S. ports could come under management of a state-owned company that has been warned by al Qaeda of their infiltration in key agencies, including security. The President has failed the American public by making a backroom deal with Dubai Ports World that puts American security interests at risk. Congress has a responsibility to the American public to take immediate action to stop this deal from moving forward,” said U.S. Rep. Schwartz.
