Congresswoman Schwartz Announces
2007 Congressional Art Competition Winners
 
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz is pleased to announce the winners and runner ups of this year’s 13th Congressional District Congressional Art Competition. 17 students from Montgomery County and Philadelphia participated in this year’s local Congressional Art Competition. The prestigious national competition is entered by thousands of U.S. high school students who compete to have their art work hang in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.

“We had an outstanding group of local students enter the Congressional Art Competition this year. Each student should be very proud of the caliber of their artwork,” said Congresswoman Schwartz.
 
The first prize was awarded to Alycea Moss of Abington Senior High School for her artwork titled “My Favorite Martian.” 
 
Honorable mentions were awarded to Kathryn Bibler, a student at Academy of the New Church, Sara Hingley, a student at MaST Community Charter, and Christine Kim, a student at Upper Dublin High School.
 
Representative Schwartz hosted a reception and award ceremony earlier this month at The Fine Arts Center, Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn, to celebrate the students’ artwork.
